We are breaking the silence, blowing the dust off the blog’s wall & back from beyond the spirit world to bring you a dark treat.

This is a rather late post for the hallowed holiday, but wanted to get this out at least ON the night lol.

Featuring 3 spots to check out if you haven’t already. Bryn Ohs Immersiva, Alice in Wonderland, and Nuville Horrors.

These sims have been around for a while & can be visited at anytime for a nice group outing, all are interactive as well as scenic.

This is a very dark sim, You will need to use the sim’s WL and wear the free headlamp to get around.

Be careful, You can be killed & sent home by Mr Zippers, a mad robotic type bunny zipping randomly about the sim.

This sim is Eerie, Spooky, Intriguing, & worth a visit.

Great scenes as you ride the creepy bus thru the town,

At the end of the ride, You can search for 50 great hunt items hidden in the apartments.

Worthy of the 100L Entry fee, This sim is well done. A J-Team Thumbs Up!

Slightly Dark & Twisted with a Sprinkle of Whimsy, This sim is beautiful and a delight to explore.

You will need a group tag to access the grounds,

From the landing with the adorable bunny-walk inside the tree where you fall down the deep and long rabbit hole.

Look for the “key” (Group Invite) near the table and bottle., Climb through the small door to get to ground level.

And…The adventure begins! A treat for the eyes and a great op for fantastic pics!

Guards! Guards! He has taken some of my candy!  😡

Be sure to try your luck at the gacha machines in back of the windmill!

Time to kick the tires, light the fires, check six,bingo to Mom — Got it?

 Today’s post brings us to a fun sim that is best enjoyed with a partner or in a group.

There are some regulars here and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind going thru tacticals with you.

 

Warbug is an aerial combat game designed by Arduenn Schwartzman, It is one of SL’s popular,long running sims.

You fly small carnival like planes that perform aerial tricks, race against others through an asteroid obstacle course, & engage in dogfights.

 

It was a lil tricky maneuvering the controls on the 1rst voyage, but once you get the hang of it, you will be targeting shots and dropping bombs in no time.

We had a hilarious time… mostly crashing. LOL!.
But, In between the fun, Throttle Back & park in the hang out spots, or browse the shops filled with quirky gadgets and fun items. (Ewww- They have a Fart Hud for sale!lol)

 

 

You can purchase your pudgy plane on the sim or marketplace, they are very inexpensive.
You may also win 1 in the lucky chair, or fly a demo when you click the windsock located on the runway.

SL Destinations: Forest in Spring

Hello All
It is near Spring, and daydreams are looking forward to change of scenery, change of clothes, change of how and where we
spend our leisure. I know most will agree, After the long Winter months we are ready for said change.

Most may be thinking ahead to Summer and a nice hot beach somewhere, Or perhaps like me… a happy medium, cool but not
COLD.
…Maybe a place where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
The comfortable mist and fresh smells ..of Earth, of Trees…of Grass.
Until the last of the snow melts or the freezing rain ceases, We can immerse ourselves in Second Life and get a sample of
whats to come while waiting for Mother Nature to gracefully move on to the next season in RL.

There are many Forest and Parks in Second Life, Choosing just one to blog about was a challenge,
So We will just list some of  the photogenic places for you to check out.
Since Nature inspired this post, We Transformed our avatars into Dryad Tree Spirits and set the pics to words.

SL Destinations: Moon Base

This is the J-Team reporting from Linden Labs Moonbase…

 

We have landed safely and analyze this destination in full detail for you.

 

This simulator is set in a crater with multi levels that reach from the surface to deep underground.

 

The Moon Base is a fully functioning center, equipped research rooms, a medical bay, a green house, and docking platforms.

 

These multi levels are accessed by lifts and corridors sealed with pressure doors.

 

There is a feeling of solitude and isolation here., Stark, depicted like the real deal.

 

We noticed traffic in & out of the sim is extremely low to nil and agree it would make an ideal spot for machinima,
photography or RP.

SL Destinations: PREHISTORICA: The Dawn Kingdoms

It’s been a while hasn’t it?! 🙂
Well we haven’t gone far, The New Year came in with a ROAR and a basket of happiness for us both.
This post reminds me of the size of our RL Blessings, DINO HUGE LOL.

 

Fort NoWhere is owned by the talented Wanders Nowhere.
This sim has some of the most unique, & awesome avatars for sale here.
Revan and I grabbed the 2 freebies offered which are pretty cool in themselves

We looked through the vendors & bought the Dinosaurs we fancied, and then proceeded to the ground level for a look around.

 

This sim has a simple layout, similar to what it may have looked when Dinosaurs roamed.

Sound effects, Smoking Volcanos, crunchy underbrush in the forest adds the the immersive RP.

 

We had a ball as we battled with LOUD trumpeting growls and snarls as we charged.

 

Kicked up dust stomping and running. Splashing in the water or munching on green or flesh.

 

Wanders the busy creator is very friendly, accomodating to visitors and, loves to hear feedback.

SL Destinations: Coral Reef Island

Welcome Winter Warriors!,

Fancy something different from sleigh rides and building snow men?

Well here’s a new spin on winter activities that may just be “cool” enough for you!

How about surfing in the cold?!, a Real Life craze for extreme surfers.

These thrill seekers will travel to icy shores in search of the perfect wave, and now it has come to SL found on the beautiful Coral Reef Island.

This stark Arctic scene is surrounded by mountains, broken ice flows, and huge crashing waves for you to surf.

We both had the feeling that if we were to shout an echo would bounce all around the mountains lol

Although there is an atmosphere of dead quiet and isolation here, the sim still retains a feeling of coziness.

So, If you don’t feel like braving icy waters you will find a few quiet spots to sit, relax, and watch the waves roll by.

There is a rez surf board at the TP point for you to try, and if you get the surfing bug you may want to check out the SL Surfing Association for events and tournaments

Welcome forward everyone!,

Revan and I are always exploring dozens of sims per day.
We’ve come across so many beautiful & fascinating destinations in Second Life.
Some places are very small, and not much to them to do a full post on,
but still made a big impression on us that we saved landmarks to revisit at another time.

You can imagine the substantial collection we have, we like just about everything lol
With so many LMs in possession, We thought to condense some choice favorites in categories.

Our picks in the “3 Realms” series will be of the Arts in this post.
Art forms in SL are interestingly diverse, With unique perspectives and creativity.
Please take time to support the Art community, refer and patron them frequently.

The Terracotta Soldiers (TP)

 

This SL replica of ancient funerary art is AMAZING.

 

Here are the RL facts for this: In 1974 these figures were discovered by local farmers in the Lintong District, Xi’an, Shaanxi province.
The figures include warriors, chariots and horses, & varied in height according to their roles, with the tallest being the generals.

 

These terracotta statues represented the armies of the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang.
When he passed, They were buried with him to protect the emperor in his afterlife.

The Port (TP)

 

Loved Loved Loved this place!
This sim is a mashup of eclectic art galleries & media.

 

The Port is a sandbox of sorts for those into machinima, Offering LOTs of resources, & helpful tips.

 

It also has exploratory tunnels, caves & interactive art to play with.

 

Enter the building called the “Pencil factory” to see innovative & successful past projects that were launched in SL.
We haunted this place for a couple of hours LOL, & had a BALL here!

Echoes in the Garden (TP)

 

This is one of several interactive installs in SL, by Artist Rose Borchovski.
Echoes is a continuation of the story on a character named Beth and her Grandchild Lot.
This sad and haunting tale comes about because of war.

 

Bound by rules restricting them of what they can and cannot do,
Beth and Lot were forced to flee their home because a war had started.
They were separated in all the calamity, and Beth never found her grandchild again.

 

The Artist injects so much emotion into her creations.
You can feel the fear, the loss and pain of an upcoming war and separation.

SL Destinations: The Water Lantern Festival

Well Hello There,

After a few weeks of intense exploring, We finally slowed down enough to do a post today. YAY!
There have been a flurry of events that have started., Some well advertised, some lesser known, but all definite gems.

We just had to tell you about this particular ‘must see’.

The Night Market, at The Water Lantern Festival.

It’s a magical event full of Asian-inspired goodies made by the many talented designers in secondlife.

At this time, They also have a fund raiser called “Love to the Philippines.”
The community is showing support for families affected by the Huge & Deadly Typhoon that ripped through the country.
You may donate to this cause by buying from a stall at the gate/landing area.

If you like to take photos, the venue is beautifully decorated, It made us go oooo-ahhh!

We dressed for the occasion and snapped some mementos.

The creative mind(s) that designed this venue made it interactive and fun for all.

Even thou you can wade through knee high waters, There are boats to row and float to each stall while you shopped.

Others had a great time at the popular noodle stand, If you could stand the wait for a free chair,  you will enjoy your bowl too lol

SL Destinations: Ravenscroft

Hello Explorers!

Welcome to another post highlighting  a sim we think you’d enjoy.

Ravenscroft is the home & creativity of Sir Musgrave Mondegreen and his partner Saryn.

 

The peaceful grounds have a romantic feel and is the perfect spot to relax in.

 

They graciously welcome the public to explore the grounds but do ask that visitors do not enter the Manor house unless invited.

 

This romantic Isle has areas to socialize, a leisurely tour by train, and a hidden tunnel with a room to spend time in.
(walk over the manhole cover at landing area to enter the tunnel).

 

When you make your way through the tunnel, the other end will bring you to the boat tour.

Jump on the boat for a quick ride and arrive at the Mer-Fountain just up the hill.

 

Take your time, look around at the cozy areas, Its very photogenic here.

 

Enjoy the serenity and surroundings.

We came across a sim that was a lot of fun!

They have the cutest, goofiest Goblins, Witches, Demons, Ghosts, snarling Ghouls & scaredy cats.

Hot air balloons to tour the island, Boats to row and boxes to glide..

We had a ball Driving the ufo, floating away with balloons, & riding brooms.

This sim wide store is in a festive hallow’s eve setting, Very nice for snapshots in costume or not.
All interactive gadgets and builds are for sale, and available for you to play with until your hearts content.

Halloween is only 15 days away, and if you have not decorated yet and would like to, this place is for you!
Unique items & characters that were very LOW priced, perfect bargains.

Bring a crowd, Start a giant race for laughs :p
