SL Destinations: Museum Island

Hello & Welcome Exploring Enthusiasts!

Today’s post brings us to the beautiful and elegant Museum Island by Carlolello Zapatero.

 

There are 21 replicas of the world’s richest architectural and historical landmarks of the Mediterranean.

 

These ancient wonders are a collection from across France, Iraq, Egypt, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Jordan, & Babylonia of long ago.

 

Maps and Directories can be found at the entrance and along the paths as you saunter over the bridges & landscapes warmed by carefully placed sunlight.

 

The Textures used on these ancient masterpieces are phenomenal.
The builder took great care in all details, especially with the shadows showing precise depth and realism.

 

Each monument will have a board in front, stating the origin and pertinant information of the RL artifact.

 

We recommend the 2 automated tours set out.
1 is a walking tour for you and a companion. It will walk you thru the entire Isle not missing one square inch.
It’s really fun to do and if you are like me and Revan, You will try to do it a few more times LOL

 

The second is a boat tour that can hold up to 4 avatars. (We had a friendly avatar join us lol~ Hello Morgan Darkrose!)
This tour will encircle and weave around and through the island to get another perspective of all its beauty.

While settled at Home in Isolation.

Some Sing to elevate
Some turn to fortune telling to speculate
giving hope, where none is found.

Some hold on to faded pasts
while wearing Bitter Masks

Empty Voids & Loss Deficient
Disappointment ongoing and consistent

Stop & Take a look at the Dark & Mysterious Overto Omonto sim, designed by Romy Nayar.
You as the visitor can make a difference for these poor characters.

There is a puzzle to solve amongst the characters.
Each one of them holds a keyword that collectively Will open a door to freedom.

This sim although shadowy is visually appealing..It’s like walking into a Sepia photograph.

Solstice Tidings One & All!,

This post is about one of our mutually favorite times of the year, Fall.

September 22-23, marks the Autumn Solstice., It’s the closure of summer, The reap of harvests, Enjoyment of colors on
changing leaves, And preparation of oneself both physically and mentally for the colder months ahead.

 

This change is celebrated by many different cultures all over the world in several ways.
In the U.K. for example where Revan is from, People visit the World Famous site called Stonehedge.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England.
It is generally accepted that Stonehenge was an ancient spiritual centre, and many people congregate to welcome the sun and
the new seasons.

Revan and I dressed in manner and explored SL in search for nostalgic & picturesque Fall sims.

The photo’s in this post came from 4 of the sims we enjoyed.LM’s are included below.
**SL’s Stonehedge, A cute little village on a sim called Fable, A gorgeous sim called the Kingdom of Alurel, and We had
a ball dancing to Medieval Flutes at The Renaissance Faire Isle.**

I also wrote a small poem about the Event. 🙂

 

A Season of Mellow has been ushered in.
Like an orchestra, Autumn’s song begins.

Nature’s Crescendo starts to build
Welcoming her song are those of guild.

Woodsman, Farmers, Gatherers of like.
Meeting on Meadow, travel by Pike.

Some may view this all as a Pagan’s delight,
But it is just respect of impending dark while giving thanks to sunlight.

Celebratory Feasts, Dancing in Cheer.
It is Autumnal Equinox and finally here.

Greetings Time Travellers.
Today we blast into the future as our adventures take us to BLADERUNNER CITY, A fantastic collaboration of Art and Sci-Fi.

BLADERUNNER CITY as an ART INSTALLATION, is based on the underlying concepts and ideas raised in the movie “Blade Runner”.
It incites deep thought on burning questions such as, Who are we?,.. Why are we here?, And..Where are we going?.

 

Giant robots sit between Art Installs housed in futuristic Aztec inspired pyramids.
This install is approximately sea level and holds phenomenal works of art by various well known artist.

This sprawling Cyber-tropolis is Spread out over many levels with eerie sounds setting the mood.

In The dark rain drenched underbelly of the city you will find Bars, restaurants and seating areas tucked away in numerous structures for you to enjoy.

 

Explore the network of dark mysterious tunnels and walkways that interlink each level.

 

The Build and feel of BLADERUNNER is quite immersive, so we got into character with Cyborg inspired outfits.

The sim does invite photographers and Machinima to indulge here. It is a high traffic sim, so come visit,
Meet other like minded folks, RP or make a video if you would like.

Its a great place to have as much fun as you can conjure up with a lil’ imagination.

Hello SL Trekkers!,

Check out this Fun & Interactive destination spot in Edo Japan.

 

You can Race modern minibikes or vehicles of your choice through Ancient Edo Japan.

 
Whizz past Japanese castles and villages, as you ride the winding track.

 

Can you beat your friends in speed? (Like I beat the Brakes off Revan HAHA!)

These 2 sims are a great combination of old and new but they mesh well.

 

Theres are 50’s style gas stations, motorcycle shops, and traditional styled buildings selling items.

 

TP to the Grundge area for maximum chilling just under the race track next to a photobooth to play in.

There you can use the sandbox freely. It has a 3hr return, so no worries!

Have a bit of fun and get your Mugshots done.
You can find the mugshot booths Just below the bike’s starting point or in the 19Motorcycles shop.

 

It’s very laid back in Edo, you can walk around as a Samurai & fit in with the decor or ride out on Kawasaki Ninjas., The choice is yours.

Welcome All!
Revan here :), The Wife and I were feeling a bit Rockabilly Retro today, So I searched for a sim to fit our mood.
I came across a true Gem., The Arkansas State University had 2 sims that fit our theme perfectly.

What a VAST destination! We got more than we expected. There are actually 6 sims Total owned by ASU., 2 campus, including an
orientaion area with Art Gallery, 3 historic recreations by Painter Meriman and 1 set aside as a Leisure sim with Beach.

The Regions have MANY points of interest, Too numerous to cover all in one post,

But We will highlight the spots we found enjoyable.

Here you will find unusual Art Exhibits and Interactive galleries.
Be sure to Transport to each area in the Art Building via the large banner flags in front.

of John L. Handcox.

John L. Handcox (1904-1992); was a Great Depression-era tenant farmer and union advocate from Arkansas renowned for his
politically charged songs and poetry.

This place is AMAZING!, They have even replicated Ernest Hemingway’s Studio.

During the 1930s A barn was converted into a studio to give Hemingway privacy for writing.
Portions of one of his most famous novels, A Farewell to Arms, and several short stories were written in this studio.

Moving along, We came across Country Music Singer Johnny Cash’s boyhood home in Dyess Circle.

This is a recreation of The Cash family home in Dyess Arkansas as it was during the 1940s.

Check out the the rest of this town. There’s a Pop-shop, Cinema, & other colony display homes here, It’s like a step back

 Exploring a bit more we come across a piece of Antique Southern Beauty.

A scale model of The Lakeport Plantation House in Lake Village, Arkansas.

This palatial estate is One of Arkansas’ premiere historic structures.
Lakeport is the only remaining Arkansas plantation home set on the Mississippi River.
It was built in 1859 for Lycurgus and Lydia Taylor Johnson, Who were part of a political dynasty that extended from
Virginia to Kentucky to Arkansas.

Jump on the Horse & Carriage awaiting you for a tour around the estate with cotton fields.

Opposite of The Lakeport Mansion are tour boats and rafts.
The Raft will take you to the tragic sunken town of Napoleon.

Just stand up when destination reaches its point and walk off the pier to find this RL Historic replica underwater.
There are plenty of signs around to tell you the story of what happened and when.

If You take the row Boat, You will then tour a serene swamp, great for photos.

There is also a wooden shack complete with rocking chairs on the porch to hang out.

SL Destinations: Avidya

Welcome Explorers,
This post brings you another spot worthy of a visit named Avidya.
There are not many interactive areas here but We both agree, It is very pretty to look at and perfect for avid photographers.

At the starting point, There is a Cafe set in a Manor, with an old english style garden thick with bright flowers, and
swaying trees. Inside this cafe is traditional Japanese style dining, & A sushi bar with crackling fireplace & humble decor.

There is a Welcome sign announcing club hours are being   held every Tuesday and Thursday.

Outside of the Manor’s cafe is a covered bridge and walkways that lead to other scenic areas on the sim.

One area is vivid and lovely as hundreds of colorful butterflies flutter at the entrance of a cave.
This cave contains a Harp, A fantasy garden of Giant mushrooms, Beds of Flowers and even more butterflies.

 

The walk continues along to a cobble stone street with Old style store fronts & brownstone stoops.
Set on the street are cafe style chairs and table. Great for pictures, perfect for a sit and hang out.

 

Across the waterway you will see a tall castle. That is the Cinderella Social Dance Bar.

Inside this castle is a majestic ballroom, with Itans and sitting areas for social gatherings.
They are also offering at this time a Snazzy Mesh Suit Free for the Fellas, Stop by and pick up one.

Hello & Welcome Explorers!
Read along as we visit “Childhood”, An Art installation from Cherry Manga & The Mysterious Wave Group.

This playful & interactive destination showcases several instances most of us shared when we were young.

Whether it was playing in the rain, Flying Kites,  Blowing Bubbles,

Pretending to be on a Boat made of Candy, Building Blocks, Patty-Cakes with our mates,

Hopscotch, Pinwheels, and a myriad of other childhood games.

Hubby and I stood in the sunset and discussed what was fun to us in our childhood.
And we mutually agreed, If life were to have it, we’d probably be best friends waaaay back as well.
I was such a TomBoy in my younger years I would’ve given him a run for his time LOLOL

Today’s post is of a gem you may add to your exploration list.

Safrano Gardens is Beautiful, Serene, &  Does evoke spiritualism within your person.

Toasting to the Romantic, Mysterious & Ancient Culture of India, There are many  references
of this deep culture throughout the sim.

This destination is very peaceful, romantic and a photog’s haven.

Watch the sun rise while drinking tea on a beautiful golden barge with your favorite person(s).

Hubby and I did venture out to another picturesque destination call Pakeeza – Shekhawati.

Here we found areas used for Beach outings, celebrations, and a build fashioned after the Opulent Taj Mahal.

Touring the grounds You will see Peacocks, Fountains, Arches, with plenty of pretty areas all great for photo opportunities.

Pakeeza is also a fantastic spot to sit and reflect alone or spend quality time with your favorite crowd.

Hello! & Welcome Forward <3,

Joyous events in my SL & RL have come & gone but I am back!
Back to what I love in SL…Exploring and Blogging with my now Husband Mr Godai 🙂
Ahhh! We were Married April 28th in a private ceremony, and have been tucked away on honeymoon 😉

Today’s post is showcasing the phenomenal grid of SecondLife.
There have been GORGEOUS BEAUTIFUL Intriguing  spots We have traipsed across, some by chance or by word of mouth.

This particular find is a lovely spot on the mainland that is an Art Gallery & Studio that you may use.
They do allow rezzing and invite you to pull out your own props to make your pics look better.

When you have looked through the gallery and or are done using the studio booths, you MUST adventure outside out into the vast gardens.

The rain is falling in some spots, while other areas are themed after fable characters like The Mythical Fawn Pan or The Tree of Wisdom.

The sounds throughout this haven are soothing. Harps and flutes play,

Entwined with sounds of waterfalls, trickling streams, & bird calls of different varieties.

Check out the sim yourself, Its a gem to add to your photography and or meditation list.
